Be fat free!

It may seem harmless to pour and scrape your fats, oils, and grease (FOG) down the kitchen drain, but this can cause real trouble! Prevent your sewer line from backing up over this holiday season, by keeping FOGs out of your drain. The best practice is to pour leftover oils and grease into an empty jar or can, and scrape the FOG from your dishes into a trash can.

If you're deep frying turkeys with several gallons of cooking oil, the excess needs to dropped off at the Corporation Yard on S. River Road during business hours from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm M-F, or at the Yolo County Landfill. Large amounts of liquid are not allowed in your trash.
